First Contact with Meher Baba

The first time I saw a picture of Meher Baba, it was on the back of the Who Came first Album in 1971, I was 9. I wondered, who is this funny man on the horse? My older brother was way into The Who so he kept bringing the albums home. I loved that album even at that tender age. Another album that took me away, both with audio and visual was Tommy. I would stare at that booklet for hours, listening to the music and wondering who is this Avatar Meher Baba listed in the liner notes.. Well that was my earliest known Baba contact.
It would be 20 hard years later, full of many self-destructive moments, when Baba shook me and really got my attention. It has been since then that I have come to realize he was never far from me, even in my hardest times.

One constant thread has been, of course the music of the Who and Pete Townshend. I feel the music helped keep me teathered to Baba all those years, while now my relationship with Meher Baba is its own, wonderfull and deeply personal journey.

I am hoping that there might be a discusion out there somwhere, perhaps a question or maybe some answers.
I definitly know for myself it has brought up some questions and really, just an excitement that I cannot explain.
So thats it for now, and we will see what tomorrow brings
Jai Baba
